Yanhui Kuang

Yanhui Kuang，graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts at Hunan Normal University in China in 1990, who has lived in the United States since 2002.
Influenced by the bicultural elements of the East and the West, HER artistic works are not only implicit and restrained with the Oriental elements, but also untrammeled and colorful mixed with the Occidental styles.
Most of Yanhui’s artistic works are created in Chinese Xuan Paper as the main creative character. In order to know more about Xuan Paper’s characteristics and understand it much better, Yanhui went to visit  Anhui, China and did some research work on Xuan Paper there, in the summer of 2019,  where Xuan paper is produced. Through on-the-spot investigation, Yanhui learned that Xuan Paper needs to go through more than one hundred production processes such as Peeling, Beating, Washing, Pressing, Treading, Whipping, Cutting, Pounding, Repeated Steaming and Boiling, Insolation and Bleaching, Yanhui has been stimulated a great resonance with Xuan Paper, which has the reputation of "Paper Longevity for a Thousand Years"  and sublimated Yanhui from love to admiration. 
During the Pandemic in 2020, Yanhui’s inspiration led her to create a number of artistic works expressing the theme of modern anxiety and the awakening of female consciousness.
It was not so much that Yanhui has annotated Xuan Paper as that Xuan Paper interpreted itself.
Yanhui’s artistic works include Chinese Ink Painting, Acrylic, Oil Painting and Illustration.
